Peter Nero and the Philly Pops return to the Patriots Theater at the Trenton War Memorial on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 8 p.m. By popular demand, they return with their signature show, an all new “Broadway Showstoppers”, combining Broadway’s brightest stars with the magic of the Philly Pops. Two-time Grammy Award-winning pianist Peter Nero welcomes Christiane Noll, Hugh Panaro, and Capathia Jenkins with the return of the populat voices of the POPS!
Ms. Noll made her Broadway debut starring in Jekyll & Hyde, creating the role of Emma. She also starred in the Broadway revival of Ragtime. Noll has been a member of the national tours of Grease, Miss Saigon, City of Angels and South Pacific. She made her opera debut with Placido Domingo in The Merry Widow and her Hollywood Bowl debut with Julie Andrews in The Gift of Music. She also performed at Carnegie Hall as one of 3 Broadway Divas with The New York Pops and Skitch Henderson. Ms. Noll has been living up to her reputation as being “one of the most versatile actresses in the American Musical Theatre” with a varied repertoire in Broadway, Opera, Operetta and Jazz.
Hugh Panaro has the distinction of having played both Raoul and the Phantom in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera. Also on Broadway, he has also been seen as Gaylord Ravenal in the Harold Prince revival of Show Boat and Marius in Les Miserables. Mr. Panaro received an “Ovation” nomination for his performance in Call Me Madam. Panaro has also performed with numerous symphony orchestras, has several recordings, and has recently toured throughout Europe with the legendary Barbra Streisand
Capathia Jenkins made her Broadway debut in The Civil War, where she created the role of Harriett Jackson. She starred in the off-Broadway revival of Godspell, and returned to Broadway in The Look of Love. Ms. Jenkins starred in the off-Broadway show, (mis)Understanding Mammy-The Hattie McDaniel Story, a one-woman piece for which she was nominated for a 2007 Drama Desk Award. She has recently appeared with several orchestras, including the Hong Kong Philharmonic.
The Voices of the POPS is the featured vocal ensemble for Peter Nero and the Philly Pops. Since their debut in 2000, The Voices has become an integral part of The POPS, performing a wide range of music and concerts. The ensemble consists of four sopranos, three mezzo-sopranos, three tenors and three baritones who possess an extensive array of theatrical, operatic and choral experience.

The proceeds of this concert will benefit The Foundation of Morris Hall/St. Lawrence, Inc. The mission of the Foundation is to provide dollars towards delivering quality healthcare for uninsured patients and indigent residents at Morris Hall and St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center. It also provides medical equipment for patients and residents that is not reimbursed by healthcare insurance. The Foundation also promotes safety education and injury prevention programs in the community for children and their caretakers.
