About St. Lawrence
For over 40 years, physical rehabilitation has been our specialty. As a 166-bed, fully accredited, private, not-for-profit, physical rehabilitation hospital, we offer a wide range of rehabilitation services and programs on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Therapies include physical and occupational therapy, speech therapy, therapeutic recreation, and social and psychological services. We also offer Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Dysphagia Therapy, Driver and Vestibular Rehabilitation, Wheelchair Seating Clinic and Prosthetics and Orthotics. The center has a state-of-the-art Outpatient Health Center, which includes private examination and treatment rooms, lounge and splinting area, a spacious gym and on-site apartment for Activities of Daily Living. Patients and their families benefit from a team approach to rehabilitation which helps the patient attain positive outcomes and maximizes his or her independence.

St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center is hosting a new support group for amputees and their caregivers. The group will meet first Tuesday of each month, beginning on Tuesday, May 7th, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., in the cafeteria of St. Lawrence. Physical therapists from St. Lawrence will be at the meeting to facilitate.The meeting is for amputees at all stages of experience and their caregivers. Professionals who regularly work with amputees are also welcome to sit-in.The support group seeks to provide an opportunity for amputees to learn about recovery after limb loss and to network among peers. Everyone will be given an opportunity to contribute their ideas or make announcements that would be useful to the amputee community.

St. Lawrence is offering specialized treatment for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. We have physical, occupational, and speech therapists who have received certification in the Lee Silverman program for speech communication (LSVT® LOUD™) and physical/occupational therapy (LSVT® BIG™). Both programs are innovative and effective treatments targeted to the needs of individuals with Parkinson’s Disease as well as aging and other conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome.
