Day Program

If you are at home and need physical rehabilitation, our Outpatient Day Program may be the perfect choice. We provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional in-patient rehabilitation.

A Shared Medical Management Concept
At St. Lawrence, a physiatrist - a physician who is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation - supervises your care while you are in our Day Program. Your family doctor continues to provide all of your other medical care.

Offering the Very Best
Highlights of our high-quality program include:

  • Physical, occupational, speech and language therapies, as well as psychology/neuropsychology and case management.
  • We also offer specialized programs for brain injuries, stroke patients, and driver rehabilitation.
  • Therapeutic services include dysphagia therapy, splinting, vision therapy, cognitive therapy prosthetic/orthotic evaluations, wheelchair/seating evaluations, and vestibular (inner ear disorder) rehabilitation.
  • Nursing assistance is available for administration of medications.
  • Local transportation within a 10-mile radius of St. Lawrence.
  • Treatment hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with extended hours possible.
  • Interdisciplinary team conferences with the Day Program physiatrist to discuss patient progress, goals, treatment approaches and discharge planning.

Please consider our Day Program if you:

  • Need intensive rehabilitation - at least three hours and/or three different therapies a day, for 2-5 days a week.
  • Live with someone supportive who can help you at home and see you off at the beginning of each day and be there to greet you at the end of the day.
  • Are medically stable enough to participate in a rehabilitation program.
  • Need neuropsychological and/or psychological services as part of your program.
