Vestibular Rehabilitation
This is an exercise approach used to treat dizziness and desequilibrium caused by a vestibular disorder. A phsical therapist who is certified in vestibular rehabilitation conducts an evaluation in order to gain information about the function of your inner ear. Based on the results of the evaluation and on your specific goals, the therapist designs an individualized exercise program to decrease dizziness, improve balance, and restore activity level. Depending on the nature and severity of your symptoms, a few treatment sessions may be adequate, or you may need several weeks of therapy with guidance and supervision. Your treatment may include the Epley Maneuver or Canalith Repositioning Maneuver for the treatment of BPPV (positional vertigo)
